WE LEARNED A LOT AT CES

We learned a lot about the adoption of the format, like there are now well over 250 blockbuster Ultra HD Blu-ray titles in the market (the majority authored by Scenarist facilities), 4K Player sales are booming, up 135% over last year and climbing, and consumers are buying lots of titles to go with their new players. Hollywood Studios are pleasantly surprised with the success of the format, and according to the statistics folks Ultra HD Blu-ray has officially arrived!

 BIG INTEREST IN HDR10+

At this CES we debuted our new HDR10+ workflow for Scenarist UHD. HDR10+ is an open standard that enables dynamic tone mapping during playback of a title. That means that the title can “tune” the TV for optimal image quality on a scene-by-scene or even frame-by-frame basis. The BDA spec addendum has just been ratified in support of HDR10+, and we’re working hard with the team at Samsung Research and major content holders to test and bring the exciting update to you very soon.
